At the meeting, Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, introduced the relevant situation of "accelerating the promotion of new industrialization, strengthening, optimizing and expanding the real economy", and answered questions from reporters with Xin Guobin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, and Tian Yulong, Chief Engineer and spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

    With the joint efforts of all relevant parties, China‘s new energy vehicle industry delivered a brilliant answer last year. Xin Guobin, deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the press conference that in 2022, China‘s production and sales of new energy vehicles will reach 7.058 million and 6.887 million, with year-on-year growth of 96.7% and 93.4% respectively. China‘s production and sales of new energy vehicles will rank first in the world for eight consecutive years.

    "China has become an important guiding force for the electric transformation of the global automobile industry." Xin Guobin said that since the introduction and implementation of the "Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan" in 2012, the annual composite growth rate of new energy vehicle sales has reached 87%, and the cumulative promotion of new energy vehicles has reached 15.96 million, nearly 16 million.

     The new energy automobile industry has become a wind industry. As the competent department of the industry, ICBC attaches great importance to the development trend of the new energy vehicle industry this year. Xin Guobin said that in the early stage, ICBC organized research and held several symposiums to listen to the opinions of industry enterprises, research institutions and industry organizations.

    "Judging from the feedback from all aspects, the industry enterprises have great confidence in the development of the industry this year. Everyone believes that the long-term fundamentals of China‘s economic and social development have not changed, and the enthusiasm for innovation has never been higher in implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress." Xin Guobin said that as the concept of green development has taken root, consumer satisfaction with new energy vehicles has also continued to improve.

    ICBC expects that the new energy vehicle industry will maintain a good development trend this year, and the production and sales will achieve stable growth. Xin Guobin said that in order to maintain this good trend, ICBC will focus on five aspects to promote its work.

    First, we should strengthen overall planning. We will further improve the coordination and promotion mechanism for the development of the new energy vehicle industry and coordinate the overall work of the development of electrification, networking and intelligence. Focusing on technology research, promotion and application, and infrastructure construction, we will continue to cultivate independent brands with high innovation level, strong comprehensive ability and international competitiveness.

    Second, we should support innovation and breakthroughs. ICBC will focus on supporting leading enterprises to play a leading role in accelerating the technological breakthrough and industrialization application of new system batteries, automotive chips, automotive operating systems and other technologies. We will launch the pilot project of intelligent networked vehicle access and on-road traffic, accelerate the technical application of 5G vehicle-road collaboration, and promote the collaborative development of electrification and intelligent networked vehicles.

    Third, further strengthen the promotion and application. In order to carry out the pilot project of comprehensive electrification of vehicles in the public sector, ICBC, together with relevant departments, has issued a notice to further improve the electrification level of vehicles in the fields of official vehicles, taxis, postal express, and sanitation. We should work with relevant departments to study and clarify the continuation policies such as the reduction and exemption of new energy vehicle purchase tax as soon as possible, revise and issue the "double points" management measures, and stabilize market expectations.

    Fourth, improve the service guarantee capability. We should accelerate the development of domestic resources, stabilize the supply of international cooperation, and ensure the supply and price of key raw materials. It is necessary to improve the recycling system, strengthen the research of key technologies such as intelligent disassembly, and improve the recycling level of power batteries.

    Fifth, promote open development. The automobile industry is a typical international industry. ICBC will continue to implement the opening measures in the automobile field, play the role of multilateral and bilateral cooperation mechanisms, and support enterprises, research institutions and industry organizations to carry out exchanges and cooperation in trade and investment, technology research and development, standard formulation and other fields to achieve win-win development.
