Xidi Micro launches E-Fuses load switch chips for servers and other products

Recently, China‘s leading analog chip manufacturer, Xidi Microelectronics Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xidi Micro"), announced the launch of the new E-Fuse series HL8511/12 and HL8521/22 products, aimed at protecting the circuits on the output (OUT) from the adverse effects of power bus (IN) voltage transients and large surge currents, achieving the function of protecting the power bus from accidental output short circuits and overload.
1、 Product Overview
     HL8512/22 achieves reverse current blocking by controlling the external NMOS (HL8511/21 does not provide this function). These E-Fuse products integrate power FETs to manage load current, control output voltage, and adjust output slope.
    During operation, when the IN pin voltage exceeds the Undervoltage-lockout threshold, HL8511/21 and HL8512/22 start to detect the EN/UV pin voltage threshold. If the voltage of the EN/UV pin exceeds VENR, the internal MOSFET is enabled, allowing current to flow from the IN pin to the OUT pin; If the voltage of the EN/UV pin is lower than VENF, the internal MOSFET will turn off. The E-Fuse chip also monitors the load current flowing to the device in real-time, ensuring that the load current does not exceed the current limit threshold.
    HL8511/21 and HL8512/22 have thermal protection functions. When the device temperature exceeds the thermal shutdown threshold (usually 150 ° C), the internal power FET shuts off, disconnecting the load from the power supply. Once a thermal shutdown occurs, E-Fuse will continuously monitor the temperature of the device. When the temperature drops below the set value, HL8511/21 and HL8512/22 have two versions: automatic restart and latch closure.
    The main application areas of HL8511/12 and HL8521/22 are servers, SSDs, POS, USB interfaces, cable protection, etc.
2、 Product advantages
    High precision current limiting control. When the output current is 3.6A, the current limiting accuracy range of HL8511/12 and HL8521/22 is+/-8%. Compared with competitors, the current limiting control accuracy of Xidi Micro‘s E-Fuses load switch series chips is higher.
    Ultra fast OCP response time. Compared with competitors, the OCP response time of HL8511/12 and HL8521/22 is shorter and the clamping input current time is more timely.
    Supports single failure mode. When the ISET pin fails, HL8511/12 and HL8521/22 are in safe mode and can still continue working, enabling terminal application solutions to be safer and more efficient.
    Ultra low hot swappable current and surge current. Compared to competitors, HL8511/12 and HL8521/22 have ultra-low hot swapping and surge currents, which can more effectively protect input ports and effectively control the surge currents and voltage spikes generated when subsystems are plugged into the working bus.
    Effectively clamp VOUT to protect equipment. When the input voltage jumps at a speed of 10V/us and exceeds the overvoltage protection threshold, HL8511/12 and HL8521/22 can still limit the output voltage within the protection threshold, effectively preventing load damage due to voltage exceeding the limit.
